Sam- you meter for the sky instead of your subject and then shoot away. It was really dark out too so I think that helped. I also focused on them and then turned my focus to manual so that when I was metering the sky my focus wouldn't change.
I LOVE these pictures! So pretty~ Please teach me your skills!! =)
